What did Disney make not canon in Star Wars?

Lucasfilm, now under Disney, later rebranded the Expanded Universe as Star Wars Legends and declared it non-canonical to the franchise.

Following the acquisition of Lucasfilm in 2012, Disney and the Lucasfilm Story Group officially rebranded the majority of the existing Expanded Universe (EU) as "Legends" on April 25, 2014. This move effectively removed thousands of years of lore from the official timeline to provide creative freedom for the Sequel Trilogy. Content made non-canon includes all novels, comics, and video games released prior to that date, such as the famous Thrawn Trilogy by Timothy Zahn and the Knights of the Old Republic series. The only pre-acquisition projects that remained canon were the six original theatrical films and the Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated series (including the film). While these stories are no longer "official history," Disney frequently "re-canonizes" specific characters, planets, and events by reintroducing them in new projects like The Mandalorian or Ahsoka, though their backstories are often significantly altered to fit the new continuity.
