What do breast prosthesis look like?

Most breast prostheses are made from soft silicone gel (which is anti-allergenic), encased in a thin film. They're moulded to resemble the natural shape of a woman's breast, or part of a breast. The outer surface feels soft and smooth and may include a nipple outline.

The breast implants will not be visible to the TSA agent. Breast prosthesis, however, will be detected during a full-body scanner. Travelers with breast prosthesis should inform the TSA agent about their prothesis before proceeding into the scanner; they may go through additional security screening.
