What do pilots wear on their legs?

Various designs of g-suit have been developed. They first used water-filled bladders around the lower body and legs. Later designs used air under pressure to inflate the bladders. These g-suits were lighter than the liquid-filled versions and are still in extensive use.

G-suit. This tight-fitting garment applies pressure to the pilot's legs and abdomen using air pressure (like getting your blood pressure). It is attached to the actual jet, measures the amount of Gs the pilot feels, and then automatically applies the appropriate pressure to prevent them from passing out.
