What do you do with your bag when you get on a ride at Disney?

Keep the bag on the seat next to you or the floor in front of you. For attractions that are slow-moving or fully enclosed or have spacious vehicles, you can bring you bag onto the ride and plop it down next to you for the duration of the experience.

In 2026, Walt Disney World and Disneyland remain some of the most "bag-friendly" theme parks in the world. On the vast majority of rides—including thrill rides like Space Mountain, Slinky Dog Dash, and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train—you are permitted to take your bag with you. Most ride vehicles are equipped with a mesh storage pouch directly in front of your seat for smaller items like purses or phones. For larger backpacks, you simply place them on the floor of the ride vehicle at your feet; often, you can loop one strap around your leg for extra security. There are very few exceptions: on Avatar Flight of Passage (Animal Kingdom) and TRON Lightcycle / Run (Magic Kingdom), you use double-sided lockers or bins located in the loading area to store your gear. For water rides like Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, it is highly recommended to use a waterproof bag or the nearby lockers (often free for a short duration) to keep your belongings dry, but the general rule remains: if it fits at your feet, you can bring it along.
