Fabulous food and drink is always included in Economy. Quality, tasty hot meals served with a starter, your choice of wine, spirits, beer or soft drinks – and pudding, of course. And if you're flying with the little ones, we've got them covered too.
On long-haul flights, many major airlines include a free hot meal and a heartier snack as well as soft drinks and some free alcoholic beverages in an economy class fare. Other carriers, especially low-cost airlines, charge economy passengers for all refreshments regardless of route length.
Economy Light—the most basicYou get free meals, drinks and snacks. You can only bring a carry-on (up to 10kg/ 22 pounds)! If you want to check a bag, you have to pay extra. You may not select your seat until check-in.
Bluetooth accessories and headphonesWe also provide Virgin Atlantic ones for the inflight entertainment system. Wireless keyboards and headphones should be switched off and put away during taxi, take-off and landing. If you're using headphones, please still pay full attention to the safety demonstration as we depart.

Virgin Atlantic Economy Class SeatingThe seats were comfortable and there was plenty of legroom. My economy class seat, 46H was an aisle seat and I comfortably stretched my legs on occasion without touching the footrest. There was more than enough space to load my carry-on in the overhead compartment.
If you've saved enough Virgin Points and there is availability in the higher cabin (Premium or Upper Class), the flight can be upgraded*. So if you've already made your booking on a reward flight, unfortunately you cannot upgrade.
On most flights, Virgin Atlantic premium economy passengers get a goodie bag amenity kit.This kit contains the essentials: an eye mask, brush, pen, earplugs, toothbrush and toothpaste. Virgin Atlantic advertises that these amenity kits are only for overnight flights.
Some airline policies are stricter than others, but even on flights which don't explicitly prohibit using toilets in other classes, flight attendants may prevent you from doing so. Economy passengers are generally discouraged from using the toilets in business and first-class, aviation expert Irene King said.
