What does a Bayern ticket cover?

Bavarian Regional Day Pass, also referred to as Bayern ticket, is a ticket that is valid to travel unlimited, anywhere within Bavaria, for the date booked. The Bayern ticket or regional day ticket for Bavaria is valid within Bavarian region in Germany and on selected routes of neighboring countries.

In order to go from Bavaria, such as Munich to Frankfurt, you will need to purchase a regular DB ticket, not a Bayern Pass.

A Bayern ticket works on all public transport in Bavaria. Regional trains, S-Bahns, U-Bahn, buses, trams. It will not work on the Zugspitze. German Rail Pass is not valid Mittenwald to Innsbruck, but it is a cheap ticket.
