What does a blue Disney badge mean?

Cast Members with blue name tags are winners of the Walt Disney Legacy Award. These Cast Members are nominated by their fellow Cast Members to be honored for outstanding service to Guests and dedicated to Disney magic.

At Disney Parks, the color of a Cast Member’s nametag is a symbol of their achievements or specific status within the company. A blue nametag is one of the most prestigious honors a Disney employee can receive, as it indicates they are a recipient of the "Walt Disney Legacy Award." This award is not given for length of service, but rather for embodying the three core values Walt Disney himself championed: "Dream, Create, and Inspire." The selection process is rigorous; candidates must be nominated by their fellow Cast Members and then vetted by a committee of leaders. Those who win are recognized for going above and beyond their daily duties to create exceptional magic for guests and for being a source of inspiration to their colleagues. When you see a Cast Member wearing a blue badge in 2026, you are looking at one of the "best of the best" within the organization—someone who has been officially recognized for their dedication to the heritage and excellence of the Disney brand. It is the highest honor a Cast Member can achieve in their career at Disney.
