What does lifetime Platinum elite mean?

Lifetime Platinum Elite. 600 qualifying nights + 10 years as Platinum Elite or higher. Plus, enjoy a complimentary gift and look back at your Lifetime Journey like never before. Explore Platinum Elite Benefits.

Lifetime Platinum Elite is a prestigious status within the Marriott Bonvoy loyalty program that guarantees you the benefits of Platinum status for the rest of your life, regardless of how many nights you stay in a given year. To achieve this in 2026, a member must have reached 600 lifetime qualifying nights and maintained Platinum Elite status (or higher) for at least 10 years. Once earned, you no longer need to worry about the annual 50-night requirement to keep your perks. The benefits are substantial and include a 50% bonus on points earned, enhanced room upgrades (including select suites) based on availability, 4 p.m. late checkout, and access to the executive lounges at participating brands like Sheraton and Marriott Hotels. Additionally, members receive a welcome gift at each stay, which can be points, a breakfast offering, or a local amenity. It represents the ultimate reward for long-term brand loyalty, ensuring a high-tier travel experience even as your travel frequency naturally fluctuates over time.

Marriott's elite status is usually valid during the year in which you've earned it and the year afterward (though that has changed due to COVID-19 related status extensions). Generally though, if you earn Platinum status in June 2023, you'll have it for the remainder of 2023 and throughout all of 2024.
