One of the most famous Guinness World Records that has never been broken is that of Robert Wadlow, the "Tallest Man Ever." Measured in 1940, Wadlow reached a height of 2.72 meters (8 feet 11.1 inches). Despite improvements in nutrition and healthcare, no one has come within a few inches of his record in over 85 years. Another nearly "unbreakable" record is the "Strangest Diet" held by Michel Lotito (Monsieur Mangetout), who consumed 18 bicycles, a shopping cart, and an entire Cessna 150 airplane over several years; due to modern health and safety standards, Guinness no longer encourages or monitors "gluttony" records of this dangerous nature. Additionally, the record for the most lightning strikes survived (7 times) by Roy Sullivan remains untouched, as it is a record of pure, statistically improbable (and painful) chance.
