The original Snow White’s Scary Adventures dark ride at Magic Kingdom permanently closed on May 31, 2012. It was removed as part of the "New Fantasyland" expansion to make room for Princess Fairytale Hall, which is now a high-value meet-and-greet location for Disney royalty. Many fans were saddened by the loss of this opening-day attraction, but it was spiritually replaced by the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, a much more high-tech and "family-friendly" roller coaster that opened in 2014. The original ride was famous (and infamous) for being "unhinged" and legitimately terrifying for young children, featuring multiple jump-scares from the Wicked Witch. A high-value peer detail: while the Florida version is gone, the "Scary Adventures" version of the ride still exists in its classic form at Disneyland Park in California, Tokyo Disneyland, and Disneyland Paris, allowing "nostalgia seekers" to still experience the " reign of terror" of the Evil Queen in those international locations.
