What happened to the earthquake ride at Universal?

Universal Studios Hollywood has closed the Earthquake portion of the Studio Tour for refurbishment. It is expected to remain closed until Spring 2024. Located inside Stage 50, the Earthquake experience simulates an 8.3 Earthquake while inside a San Francisco subway station.
