What happens if I cancel my Disney World park reservation?

You may have a theme park ticket without a theme park reservation but you may not have a theme park reservation without a theme park ticket. If you cancel the reservation the ticket will remain in your My Disney Expereince account to be used at a later date.

As of early 2026, Disney World has simplified its reservation system, but for tickets that still require them (like Annual Passes), canceling a reservation is a straightforward process handled via the My Disney Experience app. When you cancel, the reservation is immediately released back into the pool for other guests. Importantly, canceling the reservation does not cancel your ticket. Since Disney tickets are generally non-refundable, your admission remains linked to your account, allowing you to book a different date or park later, provided your ticket is still valid. If you simply "no-show" without canceling, it can impact your ability to make future reservations if you are an Annual Passholder. For date-based tickets in 2026, reservations are largely unnecessary, but for those who still use them, canceling early is considered a "best practice" to help manage park capacity and allow fellow travelers to snag a spot.
