What happens if my Disneyland ticket expires?

I'm happy to help! While you aren't able to extend the expiration of your ticket, not all is lost. Wholly unused and expired Disneyland tickets can be used towards the purchase of a new theme park ticket.

In 2026, if your Disneyland Resort ticket expires before you use it, you generally do not lose the financial value you paid for it. According to Disney's long-standing policy, the amount paid for a wholly unused, expired theme park ticket (excluding special event tickets like Oogie Boogie Bash) can be applied toward the purchase of a new ticket at the current price. To do this, you usually need to visit a ticket booth at the Main Entrance or call Disney's Guest Selection team. You will have to pay the difference if the new ticket price is higher than your original purchase. However, once a multi-day ticket has been used for its first day, it typically expires within 13 days, and any remaining days are lost forever. For 2026 travelers, it is vital to remember that a ticket alone does not guarantee entry; you still need a valid Theme Park Reservation for the specific date you wish to visit, so checking expiration dates in the Disneyland app is a critical step in trip planning.

When you purchase your Theme Park tickets you will see that you'll have a range of dates that these tickets can be used. For a five-day ticket, you'll have the ability to visit the Parks over a range of eight days. All of your tickets must be used within that valid 8-day window. After this, your tickets will expire.

Note, a theme park reservation may be canceled up until 11:59 PM the day before the reservation. If you are unable to make it to a reservation on the day of the reservation, you will need to wait until midnight that day for the reservation to expire before you use the same ticket to book a new reservation.
