What happens when you miss your Disney reservation?

Whether you have a regular theme park ticket or an Annual Pass, if you miss a Disney Park reservation at Disney World, you won't be penalized in any way. But, Disney does encourage you to either cancel or modify your reservation if you know you won't make it.

If you miss a Disney World park reservation in 2026, the consequence depends on your ticket type. For standard date-based ticket holders, reservations are no longer required; however, for Annual Passholders and certain non-dated tickets, missing a reservation means you simply lose that day's entry slot. For Annual Passholders, the "three-strike rule" is in effect: if you miss three reservations within a rolling 90-day period, Disney will block you from making new reservations for 30 days. For dining reservations, if you fail to cancel at least two hours in advance, you will be charged a no-show fee of $10 per person. If you are running late, most restaurants offer a 15-minute grace period, but it is always best to call ahead to avoid the fee and potentially secure a later seating time within the same day.
