What information is required to be entered into an aircraft maintenance record?
(i) The total time in service of the airframe, each engine, each propeller, and each rotor. (ii) The current status of life-limited parts of each airframe, engine, propeller, rotor, and appliance.
The six items required in a maintenance record entry approving a 100-hr. inspection for return to service are: Date, total time, type of inspection, certification statement, signature, and certification number.
Date. Total flight time or lesson time. Location where the aircraft departed and arrived, or for lessons in a flight simulator or flight training device, the location where the lesson occurred. Type and identification of aircraft, flight simulator, flight training device, or aviation training device, as appropriate.
Required Maintenance Logbook EntriesEach entry must include the following information: A description of the work performed, or references to data that are acceptable to the Administrator. The date of completion. The signature, certificate number, and kind of certificate held by the person performing the work.
Recording Preventive Maintenance. As required by § 43.9, preventive maintenance must be recorded by entering the following information into the maintenance record of the item worked on: (1) “A description (or reference to data acceptable to the Administrator) of the work performed” (§ 43.9(a)(1)).
(v) The current status of applicable airworthiness directives, including the date and methods of compliance, and, if the airworthiness directive involves recurring action, the time and date when the next action is required.
