What is a blue umbrella at Disney?

Located throughout each theme park, you'll notice royal blue umbrellas. These spots are an extension of Guest Relations called the Guest Experience Team that can assist you in most areas.

At Walt Disney World, a "Blue Umbrella" signifies a stationary location for the Guest Experience Team. These cast members are easily identified by their blue shirts and are strategically placed throughout the parks under large blue umbrellas to provide high-level guest service. They are your "go-to" for troubleshooting the My Disney Experience app, assisting with Lightning Lane selections, checking wait times, and handling lost-and-found queries without you having to walk all the way back to the main Guest Relations office at the park entrance. Additionally, in the broader Disney context, a "Blue Name Tag" is a prestigious symbol of the "Walt Disney Legacy Award," the highest honor a cast member can receive for exemplifying the qualities of "Dream, Create, and Inspire." If you see a cast member with a blue tag, you are speaking with one of the most highly regarded employees in the company, recognized for their exceptional service and dedication to the Disney magic.
