Business class is considered a premium travel cabin that sits between Economy (or Premium Economy) and First Class. It is designed primarily for corporate travelers who need to arrive at their destination rested and ready to work. The hallmark of a modern international business class is the "lie-flat" seat, which converts into a fully horizontal bed. Passengers also receive high-end perks like lounge access before the flight, multi-course gourmet meals served on real chinaware, noise-canceling headphones, and luxury amenity kits. In the industry, it is often seen as the most profitable segment for airlines. Interestingly, many airlines have phased out "First Class" entirely, making Business Class their highest offering, as the quality of Business Class suites—often featuring sliding privacy doors—has become so high that a separate First Class cabin is no longer economically justifiable for most routes.
