At the absolute summit of the Burj Khalifa sits a massive 244-meter structural steel spire, which houses essential communications and broadcasting equipment. This spire is often referred to as "vanity height" because it is not habitable; however, it is a masterpiece of engineering, composed of over 4,000 tonnes of steel and built from the inside using a specialized hydraulic pump. Below the spire, the highest habitable point is Level 163, which is a technical floor reserved for mechanical equipment and building maintenance. The highest point accessible to the public is The Lounge on levels 152, 153, and 154, located at 585 meters above the ground. Above this, levels 155 through 160 are used for mechanical purposes and as "corporate suites" for high-end telecommunications firms. While you cannot stand on the very tip of the spire, the panoramic views from the level 148 "At the Top Sky" deck and the level 154 lounge allow visitors to see as far as the shores of Iran on a clear day with low humidity.
