What is Delta Priority Security Line Access?

When you're flying with Sky Priority®, you enjoy access first to benefits like expedited check-in, security, boarding and baggage. This includes designated frequent traveler priority security lanes, which are offered at peak times in select Airports.

Delta Priority Security Line Access—part of the broader SkyPriority suite of services—is an "accelerated" security lane available at select airports for premium travelers. In 2026, you can access this benefit if you are flying in Delta One, First Class, or Premium Select, or if you hold SkyTeam Elite Plus status (which includes Delta Diamond, Platinum, and Gold Medallion members). While it is not the same as TSA PreCheck (which involves a background check and allows you to keep your shoes on), the Priority Line allows you to skip the long standard economy queue and head directly to the front of the "general" screening area. It is a vital perk at busy hubs like Atlanta or JFK during peak hours. Importantly, this benefit is also extended to passengers on the same reservation as an eligible elite member (up to 9 people). If you are a Silver Medallion or a Delta Amex cardholder, you typically receive Priority Boarding, but you do not receive Priority Security unless you have purchased a premium cabin ticket for that specific flight.
