What is Disney Genie?

Our complimentary Disney Genie service cultivates a personalized itinerary inspired by your party's top interests and helps you enjoy more of the magic during your theme park visit with 2 easy-to-use features. The My Day feature lets you see all your plans for the day in one place.

Disney Genie is a complimentary digital service built into the My Disney Experience (Walt Disney World) and Disneyland apps, designed to act as your "personal park assistant." Its primary function is to create a personalized itinerary based on your specific interests—whether you love "Princesses," "Star Wars," or "Thrill Rides." The Genie uses real-time data to suggest the best times to visit certain attractions to minimize your wait. It also features a "Tip Board" that shows current and predicted wait times, show schedules, and dining availability. It is important to distinguish this free service from the paid "Lightning Lane" options. While the basic Disney Genie helps you plan your day for free, the Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Single Pass are the paid upgrades that allow you to bypass the standby lines for popular rides. In 2026, the free Genie service remains a valuable tool for first-time visitors to navigate the overwhelming amount of choices in the parks, though most experienced travelers use it primarily as a quick reference for showtimes and mobile food ordering.
