What is Eurostar first class like?

Dedicated priority lanes. Three-course meal designed by Raymond Blanc, served with champagne. Extra spacious comfortable seats. Exclusive lounges in London, Paris and Brussels and access to NS International lounges in Amsterdam and Rotterdam.

Eurostar offers two tiers of "first class" experience: Eurostar Plus (formerly Standard Premier) and the top-tier Eurostar Premier (formerly Business Premier). Both offer significantly more legroom and wider, more comfortable seats than standard class, arranged in a 2-1 configuration to allow for more space and privacy. Eurostar Plus includes a light meal and drinks served at your seat, making it ideal for leisure travelers wanting extra comfort. However, Eurostar Premier is the true "first-class" experience, offering a 15-minute express check-in, access to exclusive lounges with complimentary cocktails and snacks, and a three-course gourmet meal designed by world-class chefs, served with champagne. Premier tickets are also fully flexible, allowing for last-minute changes or refunds. Both classes provide free Wi-Fi, at-seat power sockets, and a more serene, quiet cabin atmosphere compared to the often crowded standard coaches. For those traveling between London, Paris, Brussels, or Amsterdam, these premium tiers turn a simple transit into a high-end culinary and relaxation experience that rivals short-haul business class flights.

Is it worth the extra money to upgrade from Standard to Standard Premier? I would say yes, because in Standard Premier, you can get a face-to-face seat with just the two of you, which makes the journey more romantic. We have always done Standard Premier, and have felt that it was a value to us.

Sometimes First Class can turn out to be even cheaper than standard. However, the extra benefits vary from just an antimacassar, to extra seating area, reclining seats, more convenient luggage space, and inclusive food and drink.

But there is added comfort in full class, and given the nominal price differnce and your travel companions, I would suggest that you choose first class. There's somewhat more room in first class and the seats are *supposed* to be slightly more comfortable. You can't be served a meal at your seat in second class.
