What is included in United economy Plus?

Get extra legroom and a seat in front of the Economy sections with Economy Plus®. Economy Plus is available on all United flights and most United Express® flights. You can upgrade to an Economy Plus seat at any time from booking to check-in.

United Economy Plus is an upgraded seating option that primarily offers extra legroom—typically up to 6 inches of additional space compared to a standard Economy seat. These seats are strategically located in the front of the Economy cabin, which also allows for quicker deplaning upon arrival. While the seat itself is the same width as standard economy and the in-flight service (meals, snacks, and entertainment) remains identical, the increased pitch makes a substantial difference in comfort, especially for taller passengers or on long-haul flights. Economy Plus does not include free checked bags, priority boarding (unless you have Premier status), or upgraded food; those amenities are reserved for United Premium Plus or United First. It is essentially a "space-only" upgrade. Access is complimentary for United MileagePlus Premier members at the time of booking or check-in, depending on their tier, while other passengers can purchase these seats individually for a fee that varies based on the length of the flight.
