What is sailor loot on Virgin Voyages?

Sailor Loot is our cheeky way of saying onboard credit. Once on board, Sailors can use it to make purchases on items like specialty drinks, spa treatments, tattoos, retail, Shore Things and more! Unlike Future Voyage Credit, Sailor Loot cannot be used on pre-voyage purchases, including Bar Tab.

In the high-fidelity world of Virgin Voyages, "Sailor Loot" is the brand's specific term for onboard credit. This is a non-refundable digital currency added to your "Sailor" account that can be used for almost any extra expense during your cruise. This includes alcoholic beverages (which are not included in the base fare), "Shore Things" (excursions), specialty fitness classes, spa treatments, or purchases at the onboard boutiques and "The Sea Store." You can even use it at the "Squid Ink" tattoo parlor if you're feeling adventurous. Sailor Loot is often provided as a promotional booking incentive or as a "thank you" for being a frequent sailor. It is important to distinguish it from a "Bar Tab," which is another specific credit that can only be used for drinks. In 2026, you can easily track your Sailor Loot balance through the Virgin Voyages app, and any unused balance at the end of the voyage is forfeited, so sailors are encouraged to spend it on that last-minute souvenir or a premium bottle of champagne during the "Scarlet Night" festivities to ensure they get the full value of their credit.

In truth, not much has physically changed between the two ? mostly, there are little tweaks here and there, but the majority of people would not even notice these.
