What is stay and scream?

The park closes to regular daytime guests at 5 p.m., but your 'Stay and Scream' ticket allows you to stay inside the park while it prepares for that evening's event. If you don't make it in by 5 p.m., you'll be stuck waiting in line at the front gates with the other attendees.

"Stay and Scream" is a highly popular and effective strategy used by guests at Universal Orlando Resort during the annual Halloween Horror Nights (HHN) event. It is designed to give daytime park guests a head start on the haunted houses before the gates officially open to the general public for the evening. To participate, a guest must have both a valid daytime park admission and a separate HHN event ticket. Between 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM, guests head to designated "Stay and Scream" holding areas (such as the Today Cafe or Finnegan's Bar & Grill). Once the park officially closes for the day, these guests remain inside while the rest of the park is cleared. Because these holding areas are strategically located near the entrances of several haunted houses, the "Stay and Scream" group is released into the queues approximately 30 to 60 minutes before the front gates open. This allows savvy fans to knock out two or three of the most popular houses with minimal wait times. It is widely considered the best way to maximize a night at HHN without paying for expensive Express Passes, as it bypasses the massive crowds waiting at the main entrance.

Yes, previous years were phenomenal, but this year had some extra added Halloween magic on its side. While not every single experience was perfect, the overwhelming sense of joy permeated through it all.

Wear t-shirts from your favorite horror movies and match them with skater skirts. It can still be brutally humid in September and October. Pants might be too much, especially if you plan on getting there before the sun goes down. I prefer skirts (with pockets if possible), leggings or tights, and comfortable shoes.

Can the actors touch you at Halloween Horror Nights? Although the event makes it feel like you're walking through a nightmare, the actors at Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights can't touch guests, relieving a bit of the tension.

Overall, the experience of Universal Studios' Halloween Horror Nights is worth it if you are truly interested in horror and meeting like-minded people. The lines will be long, yes. The food will be overpriced, of course.
