What is SwissPass mobile?

SwissPass Mobile is the digital version of your SwissPass card. With SwissPass Mobile, all public transport travelcards can be checked digitally, for instance the Half Fare Travelcard, the GA Travelcard, the Regional Travelcard and the seven25 Travelcard.

SwissPass Mobile is the digital version of the physical SwissPass card, integrated directly into the SBB Mobile or SBB Preview apps. It allows travelers in Switzerland to store their travelcards, such as the GA (General Abonnement), the Half Fare Travelcard, or regional passes, on their smartphone or tablet. Instead of carrying a physical red plastic card, you simply open the app and display a dynamic QR code for ticket inspectors. To activate it, you need a valid SwissPass login linked to your customer account. The mobile version is highly convenient as it also provides a real-time overview of your valid and expired tickets, and it can even store partner services like PubliBike memberships or ski passes. It is important to ensure your device is sufficiently charged, as a dead battery or a broken screen that prevents scanning is treated as traveling without a valid ticket, which can result in a significant fine. In 2026, the system has become almost universal, with the majority of Swiss residents and long-term visitors opting for the mobile version for its "all-in-one" convenience and automatic renewal reminders.
