What is the best day to visit Universal Studios Hollywood?

Here are the days we expect to have the lowest crowd levels at Universal Studios Hollywood in 2023:
  • Tuesdays through Thursdays for the second half of September and the second half of October.
  • Mondays through Thursdays in November (minus the week of Thanksgiving)
  • Mondays through Thursdays during the first half of December.

The best day to visit Universal Studios Hollywood in 2026 is generally a Tuesday or Wednesday during weeks when local schools are in session. Avoiding weekends, public holidays, and school break periods (like Spring Break in March/April or the summer months of June through August) is the most effective way to minimize wait times. In 2026, the mid-week periods in late January, February, and early May are particularly "slow" and offer the lowest crowds. If you are visiting during a busier time, Tuesday remains the statistically quietest day. Arriving at the park at least 30–45 minutes before the official "rope drop" is essential to ride high-demand attractions like Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge in Super Nintendo World before lines peak. Additionally, check the park's special event calendar; days with "Fan Fest Nights" or early closures for private events can skew crowd patterns. Using a real-time crowd calendar online before booking your tickets can help you pinpoint the specific dates where wait times are predicted to be at their absolute minimum.

It really doesn't matter which one you start at, honestly. I tend to feel like most people head to IOA first thing in the morning, because it is a straight shot from the parking garage. I would maybe just hop around both parks on both days, and play it by the crowds. There are great attractions at both parks.
