Both parks are super fun for toddlers. If you are just going with toddlers or young kids and want a chill theme park, head to LEGOLAND. You can easily have a fun LEGOLAND vacation for just 2 or 3 days. If you have more time, Disneyland is really fun for toddlers if you have 3-5 days so you can go at a slower pace.

Location of the Parks: Both parks are located in Southern California, but not in the same area. In fact, the two parks are 1.25-hours apart by car. LEGOLAND® California: is located north of San Diego in Carlsbad, CA. Universal Studios Hollywood is located south of Los Angeles in Anaheim, CA.

So you can do LEGOLAND in 1 day, and rush through everything, or 2 days, and take your time. The benefit of taking your time is that you can see the shows, play with the Legos, play on the structures, etc and not feel pressured.

While you probably could do LEGOLAND in one day, it would be at a quick pace. They have shorter hours than Disneyland (it was 10 am-5 pm when we went.) My biggest LEGOLAND California tip is to plan for at least 2 days for your first trip. And if the water parks are open, add one more day.
