The best month to visit the Dominican Republic is March. This month sits in the "sweet spot" of the dry season, offering perfect 82°F (28°C) temperatures with very low humidity and almost zero rain. It is ideal for snorkeling and the famous "Whale Watching" season in Samaná, which concludes at the end of the month. While December and January are also beautiful, they are significantly more expensive due to the "holiday peak." By March, the spring break crowds are manageable, and you avoid the "Hurricane Season" that officially starts in June. If you are a budget-conscious traveler, November is the best "shoulder month" where prices drop by 30-40% but the weather remains largely sunny with only occasional, brief afternoon showers. Avoid September and October if possible, as these are the peak months for tropical storms and the highest humidity of the year.
