Comfortable clothes. Shorts, khakis, cotton pants, lightweight jeans, cotton shirt, linen shirt, lightweight t-shirt. Avoid spandex, short dresses, tight clothes, nylon, and high heels. I am always amazed when I see ladies wearing heels at a theme park.

I recommend that you either wear layers or be prepared to buy an extra layer. There are TONS of merchandise shops at the parks where you can do so. During all times of year, the best shoes for Universal Studios are comfortable walking shoes, and that generally means supportive sneakers with socks.

You will probably spend a max of 10 mins exposed outside. Even if it's raining I'd suggest leave coats in transport or cloakroom. It's not worth carrying for better part of 5 hours. It's studio lighting inside so does get fairly warm.
