What is the busiest time of year for San Diego Zoo?

Peak season is May through August (though in recent years, October can remain just as hot). Guests who think they may be escaping the biggest crowds by arriving earlier in May will still find plenty of kids in the major San Diego attractions on field trips.

The Zoo and Safari Park are approximately 30 miles apart. Although one can easily enjoy a full day or more at both parks, to visitors with limited time we recommend a minimum of three to four hours to see some of the Zoo and a minimum of four to six hours to experience a portion of the Safari Park.
