What is the decision on ULEZ 2023?

From 29th August 2023 the London ULEZ is set to expand. Developed as part of a commitment to clean up London's air, the London Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) is an area within which drivers of the most polluting vehicles must pay a daily charge.

Drivers do not need to pay the daily ULEZ charge for vehicles parked inside the zone that are not driven on that day. This is regardless of whether the vehicle is parked on a private drive or on street.

London road user charging Even if you make a short trip inside the zone using a vehicle that doesn't meet the ULEZ emissions standards, you need to pay the £12.50 daily charge. This includes residents of the ULEZ.

The discount will be available to those who live within the ULEZ and in designated areas next to the boundary where the Congestion Charge residents' discount applies. There are currently 16,289 vehicles registered for the residents' Congestion Charge discount and therefore eligible for the ULEZ 'sunset period.
