What is the difference between Anna Maria Island and Holmes Beach?

Anna Maria Island is a large area including more than just Holmes Beach. This part is just one section where the resort is located. There are so many other beaches along the island that are easy to visit from this Anna Maria resort. The island is 7 miles long and can be explored city by city.
