What is the difference between gold and silver Flightradar24?

Arrival and Departure boards list flight status and the On Ground page lists aircraft currently at the airport. All users see the last 60 minutes of on ground activity, Silver subscribers see the past 7 days, Gold subscribers see the last 30 days, and Business subscribers see the last 90 days.

The color of the trail behind the aircraft differs depending on the altitude the aircraft had at that position. The numbers are in meters. If the aircraft is below 100 meters in altitude, the trail will be white. If it is above 100 meters, the trail will yellow, and with increase in altitude, will be green and so on.

From 3 March 2020, ADS-B data collected by satellite was made available to all users. Aircraft located using satellite data are coloured blue on the map, and yellow if located by terrestrial receivers.

Red: When an aircraft is displayed as red that means that you are currently following that specific aircraft on the map or that an emergency squawk is on for this aircraft.

If the aircraft's position surpasses 2500 meters in altitude, the trail will be light blue, and will then change to dark blue, purple and finally red for the highest possible altitude. If the trail is a black dotted line, the aircraft is outside our coverage area and its position is being estimated.

How we got here. Flightradar24 started as a hobby project in 2006 when two Swedish aviation geeks decided to build a network of ADS-B receivers in Northern and Central Europe. In 2009 we opened up the network, and made it possible for anyone with an ADS-B receiver to upload data to the network.

Military aircraft in particular are exempt from many civil rules and regulations which would see most aircraft having an active transponder and of course their operational requirements will dictate they often do. That said, ultimately, any plane CAN disable it if they wish.

In most cases, our receiver network is no longer receiving a signal from the aircraft. This tends to be more common when an aircraft is flying over large bodies of water. It can also be a technical problem somewhere. FR24 has not a global coverage.

Code 7600. Code 7600 is the code for a loss of radio. If a pilot's radio goes out during a fight, they can enter 7600 into the transponder. Then they should proceed to their intended airport following a standard landing plan. Pilots should be extra careful and on alert for other aircraft around them in the sky.

The most well know of these is the code 7700. This is used to indicate an emergency of any kind. A pilot will enter this when in an emergency situation - either instructed by ATC after declaring an emergency or without communication if there is no time.

When VC-25A or the currently under development VC-25B are in the air but not carrying the president, air traffic controllers may refer to them by their tail numbers, Special Air Missions (SAM) 28000 and 29000, or by a call sign of their choosing.

Air Force One is not routinely escorted by fighter jets while it is flying. Yes, it is closely monitored by Air Traffic Control and by the US military (through NORAD) during its flight, but it does not routinely receive fighter escort, especially over the continental United States.

Blue: Aircraft displayed as blue icons are currently being tracked via satellite. Satellites are collecting the ADS-B signals from aircraft and transmitting them to the Flightradar24 network. Space-based ADS-B tracking will be used to supplement our terrestrial receiver network.

Squawk codes are what air traffic control (ATC) use to identify aircraft when they are flying. They are unique four-digit numbers and range from 0000 to 7777; some of which are fixed values signifying specific scenarios (see below), others being randomly generated by ATC.
