The two primary theme parks at Universal Orlando Resort offer distinct experiences: Universal Studios Florida is themed around "riding the movies" and features many simulator-based attractions, soundstages, and the incredible Diagon Alley section of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. It is generally considered the better "rainy day" park as more of its attractions are indoors. In contrast, Universal's Islands of Adventure is designed as a journey through distinct themed "islands" like Marvel Super Hero Island and Jurassic Park. It is the go-to park for high-intensity thrill seekers, featuring world-class roller coasters like the VelociCoaster and Hagrid’s Motorbike Adventure, as well as several major water rides. While both parks are connected by the Hogwarts Express train (which requires a park-to-park ticket), Islands of Adventure focuses more on outdoor physical thrills and immersive environments, whereas Universal Studios focuses on screen-based storytelling and live shows.
