What is the Disney transfer policy?

Once a person uses a Disney Theme Park Ticket, all subsequent admissions are specific to that person and cannot be transferred to anyone else. If you have not yet used a ticket, you may transfer it to another person. You may also buy a new theme park ticket online or at the theme park Main Entrance.

Disney's transfer policy is very strict regarding theme park tickets: once a ticket has been used for even a single day, it becomes specific to that individual and is non-transferable. You cannot "share" a multi-day ticket with another person. However, if a ticket is completely unused, you can typically reassign it to another person within your "Family & Friends" list in the My Disney Experience app. For vacation packages, the policy is slightly different; you can often transfer a booking to a travel agent within 30 days of making the reservation, provided the trip is not yet paid in full. It is also important to note that while guest names on a resort reservation can be changed up until the day before arrival, the "lead guest" usually cannot be changed without canceling and rebooking the entire package. Always check the specific terms of your 2026 booking, as "non-refundable" promotional tickets may have even tighter restrictions on modifications or reassignments.
