The Dream Key was the highest tier of the Disneyland Magic Key program (the successor to the Annual Passport system) when it launched. It was the most expensive "membership" and was famously advertised as having no "blackout" dates, meaning holders could technically visit on any day of the year, including Christmas and New Year's, provided they had a reservation. However, due to its popularity and subsequent lawsuits regarding the difficulty of actually getting reservations despite the "no blackout" claim, Disney replaced the Dream Key with the Inspire Key in late 2022. As of 2026, the "Dream Key" name is no longer in active use for new sales, but its legacy lives on in the current Inspire Key, which offers the highest level of benefits including free standard parking, 20% off select merchandise, and 15% off food. The current tier system (Inspire, Believe, Enchant, and Imagine) still requires all members to use a reservation system, which is Disney's way of managing daily capacity and ensuring the parks do not become unsafely overcrowded.
