What is the earliest you can board a Disney cruise?

Typically, the earliest port arrival time for a Disney Cruise Line sailing is 11:00 a.m., though this could vary slightly. Do note that you will select a port arrival time when you complete your online check in. You can do your online check in 30 days prior to your sailing.

However, for most cruise ships, you must embark, at most, an hour or two before departure, with the absolute minimum being one hour. If you're any later than the strict time that your cruise line stated in your policies, you won't be allowed onboard, so it's much better to be too early than too late!

The best time to board a cruise ship is obviously when there are few lines and short waits. The trick is knowing when that will be. Unfortunately, it can vary from port to port and ship to ship, but I prefer arriving in the early afternoon, usually around 1 or 2 p.m.

As much as we're sure Disney would like to, they don't control the weather. Depending on when and where you sail, you're likely to find that temperatures on cooler weather itineraries average in the 40s-60s during the day – you're unlikely to encounter anything truly frigid during any DCL trip.

It all depends on which cruise line you are sailing with and how busy the terminal is. Boarding will continue up until one to two hours before the scheduled departure time. If you arrive at the terminal a few minutes before the ship's departure, you will not be allowed on.

Many first-time cruisers don't realize that they won't be able to go directly to their staterooms upon boarding. Pass the time while you wait for your room to be ready and for the ship to set sail by enjoying lunch on the Lido Deck of the ship.

The vast majority of cruise lines don't publish official curfews, though they do rely on parents to exercise good judgement. Perhaps somewhat surprisingly, the very kid-friendly Disney Cruise Line does not have an official policy regarding curfew for underage cruisers.

As this post suggests, even short Disney cruises are worth it. So depending on how much time you have and where you would like to go, you could do 3 and 4 day cruises and have a wonderful time. I do think a 7 night, 8 day cruise is good for a Disney cruise.

Late afternoon on the last full day of your cruise, instructions on debarkation along with luggage tags will be delivered to your stateroom. The debarkation process will vary by passenger, and it really depends on your travel schedule the following day and how much you want to carry with you when you leave the ship.

Quicker boarding process Arriving at the terminal early means that you will not have to deal with the later crowds. While the check-in process is pretty straightforward, there are a couple steps that you have to take prior to being let on the ship, including checking your travel documents and going through security.

The back of the ship tends to be considered the next best cabin position after midships. Whilst the front of the ship gets the most movement the back also does get some. Whilst it's nowhere near as bad as the front of the ship, you may still notice some movement in rough seas.

We have arrived up to fifteen minutes late to the rotational dining rooms and we were still seated. I wouldn't recommend arriving much later than that so you can enjoy the meal!
