VelociCoaster is a launched roller coaster at Universal Islands of Adventure in Orlando, Florida. Manufactured by Intamin, the ride opened to the public on June 10, 2021.

In our opinion, the VelociCoaster is without a doubt the most intense ride at Universal Orlando resort which is the main reason why we graded it a 10/10 on the thrill scale above. This Jurassic Park inspired roller coaster shoots riders through two launches, clocking in at over 70 MPH.
Disney's Animal Kingdom staple attraction Expedition Everest is super scary, but overall, Disney tends to do less in the way of thrill rides. Conversely, Universal Studios Florida delivers on ride-induced screams.
The Jurassic World VelociCoaster is definitely the scariest ride in Universal Studios Orlando and will absolutely make your heart pound as you make your way through. You can expect two separate launches, with one of them going up to 70 mph into a 140 foot drop and even an inverted zero-gravity stall.
Given its wild stats, VelociCoaster is the most thrilling attraction at Universal Orlando. (Although, we have not included Volcano Bay's water park rides here, and the Ko'okiri Body Plunge, which is inside the volcano, may actually be scarier.) It features two magnetic launches, one of which propels it to 70 mph.
If you want to revolve the entire vacation around theme parks, then Universal Orlando is probably your best bet. However, if you consider visiting a theme park as only part of a larger itinerary, then Universal Studios Hollywood may be a better option.
Expedition Everest - Legend of the Forbidden Mountain® is considered a thrill ride and reaches speeds up to 50 mph; we would categorize it somewhere between Big Thunder Mountain Railroad® Attraction and Rock 'n Roller Coaster® Starring Aerosmith.
The ride is described as a high speed roller coaster but it is nothing more than a Spider Man/transformers 3D, clone with the exception of one point where you do a rapid, albeit, short acceleration to about 25mph (sooooo high speed).
With a whopping 20 roller coasters, Six Flags Magic Mountain even rates a mention with Guinness World Records – helping the park justify its “Thrill Capital of the World” slogan.
The oldest ride at Disney World is Prince Charming Regal Carrousel. Even though it was one of Magic Kingdom's opening day attractions, Prince Charming Regal Carrousel is older than other attractions because it was originally built in 1917 by The Philadelphia Toboggan Company.
With that being said, that is just a guideline! Plenty of guests will learn there is no Universal Studios weight limit, and as long as your comfortable and the ride is secured safely, you're all set! We strongly encourage you to give the test seats a try, which you can find right at the entrance of these attractions.
2023 Disney vs.And as a general rule of thumb, Universal is cheaper than Disney in almost every category, from tickets to theme park food, and the most noticeable being hotel rooms.
It is somewhat extreme, but not as extreme as many other coasters. Evaluating thrill levels for other Universal Orlando rides, we give the Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit coaster and the Hulk coaster 8s. The more tame Harry Potter and the Escape From Gringotts gets a 4 on the same scale.
