What is the history of Shark Island?

A concentration camp located on Shark Island in Central Namibia. The camp was opened by the German colonial forces in 1905 and used to hold Herero and Nama people during the Herero and Namaqua Genocide. It closed in April 1907. In total, approximately 1000-3000 people died in the camp.
