The main airline and national flag carrier of Poland is LOT Polish Airlines (Polskie Linie Lotnicze LOT). Founded in 1928, it is one of the world's oldest operating airlines and is a member of the Star Alliance. As of early 2026, LOT continues to operate its primary hub at Warsaw Chopin Airport (WAW), connecting Poland to over 100 destinations across Europe, North America, and Asia. The airline is currently undergoing a massive fleet modernization program, with 55 new aircraft being delivered through the end of the decade, including Boeing 737 MAX-8s and additional 787 Dreamliners for long-haul routes. While budget carriers like Ryanair and Wizz Air have a large presence in the Polish market for regional travel, LOT remains the premier choice for long-distance international travel and full-service domestic connections.
