The safety in both Mexico and the Caribbean depends largely on your destination within these regions. Haiti. Listed at number 115 on the GPI, Haiti is the most dangerous country in the Caribbean Islands as of 2022. By far the most dangerous threat to U.S. tourists is kidnapping for ransom. Reports of convoys being attacks, protests, and other violent events are also common in Haiti, as well as armed robberies.
Most visits are trouble-free, but there have been incidents of violent crime including armed robbery, sexual assaults and gang-related shootings. There has been an increase in gang-related murders involving guns. Some incidents have taken place in populated and public areas. Remain vigilant.
The most dangerous Caribbean islands. On the basis of crime rates, some of the least safe Caribbean Islands to visit include Puerto Rico, Haiti, Trinidad and Tobago. As we noted though, most crime in the Caribbean is an internal problem and is linked to inner-city areas well away from tourist resorts.

Is Antigua Safe to Visit? In my experience, yes, Antigua is safe to visit. According to local people I chatted with in Antigua, the biggest risk you'll face in Antigua is petty crime like pickpocketing and theft – both of which are a risk, anywhere in the world.

Hurricanes occur during the low season, specifically from June 1 to November 30. The risk peaks in August and September and occasionally extends into October and even November. Travel companies generally advise against going to the Caribbean during these months.
Most crime is non-violent, but weapons have been used in some burglaries. Although uncommon, there have been some instances of sexual assault on tourists. Avoid walking alone at night on beaches or in poorly lit areas especially in the back streets of the business district of Port Louis.
