What is the new ride at Disney World?

TRON Lightcycle / Run – New! Speed across a world with no horizons in a high-stakes race based on the Disney sci-fi film TRON: Legacy.

As of early 2026, the most anticipated "new" addition to the Walt Disney World lineup is the reimagined Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Magic Kingdom, which officially replaced Splash Mountain. This attraction takes guests on a musical journey through the Louisiana bayou featuring characters from The Princess and the Frog. Additionally, Disney has recently opened the Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana at EPCOT, which is an interactive walkthrough exploration trail. However, the biggest news for 2026 is the ongoing transformation of the "Tropical Americas" (formerly DinoLand U.S.A.) at Animal Kingdom, where construction is underway for a new Indiana Jones attraction and an Encanto-themed ride. While these are not yet open for guests to ride today, they represent the "newest" developments in the pipeline. For those looking for the latest operational high-thrill experience, TRON Lightcycle / Run and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind continue to be the flagship modern attractions that define the current era of Disney Imagineering and park guest experiences.
