What is the new ride at Six Flags Over Georgia?

The Thrill Capital of the South is preparing a 2024 summer debut of the first-of-its-kind, industry-revolutionizing Ultra Surf attraction, featuring the ultimate combination of the roller coaster with unique water attraction features.

The headline "new" attraction at Six Flags Over Georgia for the 2025–2026 period is Georgia Gold Rusher, which officially debuted in March 2025. This revolutionary attraction is billed as the world’s first free-spinning gondola coaster. Manufactured by Intamin, the coaster features a unique U-shaped track where riders sit in two outward-facing gondolas that spin freely based on gravity and weight distribution, ensuring that no two rides are exactly the same. The ride reaches speeds of 60 mph and heights of 144 feet, utilizing a Linear Synchronous Motor (LSM) launch system to propel the cars back and forth. The "gold rush" theming is an homage to Georgia’s 19th-century history, and the ride is packed with "airtime" moments and dynamic water features. In 2026, this coaster serves as the park's 12th roller coaster and remains the centerpiece of a park-wide investment in immersive storytelling and upgraded dining facilities, solidifying its place as a "must-ride" for thrill-seekers visiting the Atlanta area.
