The new theme park slated to open in Oklahoma in 2026 is the American Heartland Theme Park and Resort. Located in Vinita, along historic Route 66, this $2 billion project is designed to be a "world-class" destination comparable in scale to Disney's Magic Kingdom. The park will feature six distinctly American lands: Great Plains, Bayou Bay, Big Timber Falls, Stony Point Harbor, Liberty Village, and Electropolis. In addition to the 125-acre theme park, the development includes a 300-room luxury hotel and the Three Ponies RV Park and Campground, which is scheduled to open its first phase earlier than the main park. While the project has faced some legal and permitting hurdles in late 2025, the development team—which includes several former Disney Imagineers—continues to aim for a 2026 opening to establish Oklahoma as a major hub for "Heartland" tourism.
