What is the wildest ride in Disney World?

Come and Ride The Wildest Ride in The Wilderness! Big Thunder Mountain here at the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World. Always a fun ride day and night!

The title of the "wildest ride" is most famously associated with Big Thunder Mountain Railroad in Magic Kingdom's Frontierland, which is officially marketed with the slogan "The Wildest Ride in the Wilderness." This runaway mine train coaster takes guests through a haunted gold mine with sharp turns, dips, and a rickety-track sensation. As of early 2026, the ride has recently reopened following a major year-long refurbishment that added "new magic," including enhanced natural phenomena in the Rainbow Caverns. For those seeking raw intensity, other contenders for "wildest" include Expedition Everest at Animal Kingdom, which features a massive drop and backward sections, and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT, which is a high-speed, rotating "omnicoaster" that offers a much more chaotic and modern thrill compared to the classic Big Thunder Mountain.

The next biggest drop would be Splash Mountain, then The Rockin' Rollercoaster, which is more of a launch followed by a sideways corkscrew, rather than a true drop.

This just seems odd to me, as everything I have read/seen about the ride describes it as fairly tame (minus the launch) with no real big drops, certainly no more than Guardians of the Galaxy which is listed as 'Small Drops'.
