What island is better than Aruba?

Curacao might be the better island for you if you have a little more time to explore and want more of the tropical Dutch vibe. If you want a relaxing beach getaway, then Aruba might be the better island for you. I would easily return to both of these islands. Curacao-for the culture, beautiful buildings and beaches.

Whether an island is "better" than Aruba depends on your travel priorities, as Aruba is famous for its desert-like climate and "One Happy Island" hospitality. If you are looking for lush, tropical scenery and adventure, St. Lucia is often considered superior due to its dramatic Piton mountains and rainforests. For those seeking world-class diving and a laid-back vibe, Bonaire is frequently preferred over Aruba because it is less commercialized and offers some of the best shore diving in the Caribbean. If luxury and seclusion are your goals, St. Barts or Anguilla are top-tier alternatives that offer more exclusive dining and more pristine, quiet beaches. For travelers interested in history and vibrant local culture, Puerto Rico provides a deeper urban experience in Old San Juan that Aruba's Oranjestad cannot match. Finally, if you want the "Aruba vibe" but with more diverse landscapes and European flair, Curaçao is a neighboring "ABC Island" that features colorful Dutch architecture and over 35 cove-like beaches that many find more charming and less "resort-heavy" than Aruba's Palm Beach.

The best time to visit Aruba is from mid-January through May. Those months mark the heart of Aruba's dry season and the island's long stretch of comfortably warm, sunny days. The island lies in the far south of the Caribbean, below the hurricane belt, the region most affected by seasonal storms.
