In Disneyland Paris, the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction is located in Adventureland. Unlike the original version in California, which is found in New Orleans Square, the Paris version is housed in a massive, fortress-style building called Fort de France, which is integrated into a larger Caribbean-themed sub-section of Adventureland. This area also features the Captain Jack's - Restaurant des pirates (formerly the Blue Lagoon), where diners can watch the boats drift by in a moonlit tropical setting. The Paris version of the ride is unique because it features a slightly different storyline and two drops instead of one, and it was the first version to be fully "plussed" with characters from the film franchise, like Captain Jack Sparrow and Barbossa, in a way that feels seamless with the original 17th-century piracy theme. It remains the anchor of the "Pirate Coast" section, surrounded by the Pirate Galleon and Adventure Isle, making it one of the most immersive and atmospheric areas in the entire park.
