What paint did Disney use?

While on our tour, we noticed that Disney and its contractors were using two types of paints: Modern Master's Theme Park Paint and Sherwin Williams Resilience Exterior Paint. We also noticed that EVERYTHING is painted, even the things you might not realize are painted on first glance–like brick and “wood.”

In 2026, Disney’s "paint" philosophy remains a blend of aesthetic magic and high-tech durability, most notably seen in their "Go Away Green" and "Blending Blue" (or "Nothin’ Seein’ Blue") shades. These colors are specifically designed to be invisible to the human eye when used on utility boxes, construction fences, and backstage areas. For the icons themselves, like Cinderella Castle, Disney famously uses Tnemec high-performance coatings, which are industrial-grade paints originally designed for water towers and bridges. These paints are highly resistant to the intense UV rays and high humidity of Central Florida and Southern California, ensuring the colors stay vibrant for years without fading. Additionally, for "theming" and mural work, Disney’s Imagineering teams often collaborate with Sherwin-Williams and Behr to create custom "Disney Signature" lines that are low-VOC and environmentally friendly, aligning with the company’s 2026 sustainability goals while maintaining the "perfect" saturation required for the parks' visual storytelling.
