1. Göbekli Tepe - Circa 9600 BC 8200 BC. Göbekli Tepe, (Go-Beck-Lee-Te-Peh) situated in the South East of Turkey, is possibly the oldest human-built religious structure to be discovered. Its name, roughly translated, means Belly Hill, and it can be found roughly 7.4 miles (12 km) NE of the modern city of Sanliurfa.
