The Boeing 787 Dreamliner and Airbus A350, both around the same size, have subtle nuances to help you distinguish them. The ends of the wings of the A350 have curly tips that point upward, while the Dreamliner's wings angle slightly upward and, at the tip, are raked slightly to the back.

The Dreamliner has a cabin width of exactly 18 feet (5.5 metres), which just happens to be 15 inches (38 centimetres) narrower than the B-777. If you install seating in a 2-4-2 eight abreast layout, then your economy class passengers are even better off than on a B777 in nine abreast.

The 777 has a fuel consumption of 9 miles per gallon, while the 787 has a fuel efficiency of 11 miles per gallon.
